"The only certainty is that nothing is certain." -Pliny the Elder

Ironically, to this day it is uncertain how Pliny died and remains a mystery. However, it is speculative that he sucummed to life threatening levels of toxic fumes when he heroically ventured to save his friend from the Vesuvius eruption. As I think back on my travels to Pompeii and my facination with the ruins, I wonder does his spirit still wander within its walls due to some unfinished business taunting tourists? Wahhahahhaahha HAPPY HALLOWEEN everybody!

Gallery Logo

This is a logo design I made for my intro to digital class. We had to design our own gallery logo. Mine would be at the beach in Hawaii where viewers can walk around barefoot and feel the sand and snack on shave ice..hey, a girl can dream right?

Fourth Free Text Friday

Yay!...i got it to upload correctly finally after much troubleshooting
Illustration for the quote : " A book must be an ice-axe to break the sea frozen inside us" -Kafka
This piece was inspired by Alex, one of my life drawing II models over the summer. He is now in school to be a librarian and was always reading. I have to thank my brother for allowing me to draw him and modeling for the right pose.
Upon reading a good book, one can get emotionally wrapped up in the text. As humans, we can easily relate to certain situations that characters go through in the plot. A book can impale us, detoxifying our inner soul. Out pours all the tragic things that can occur in the vast depths of the sea-a harpooned octopus, an oil-slicked sea otter, and a sea turtle at the cusp of being strangled by someone who failed to sever the plastic can wrap.

Free Text Friday #1
The Purina dog show always intrigues me. Every year, hundreds of different breeds compete for a title based on criterion that to me I find subjectively quantifiable by judges. After being scrutinized on the table, dog and owner walk the walk to show off their stuff. Is a blue ribbon really important to a dog? Do they even know why they are there competing? Moreover, ultimately the love and passion that an owner has for a pet is insurmountable. "Love is all ya need"
